We're terrible at....
....remembering to bring the camera to special events. Or, we get sidetracked and forget to take pictures. Oh well, we had a family "event" this weekend at Nana & Papa's new house. Everyone wanted to see it before we started the remodeling. AND, we celebrated Jodi, Casi, Don, Justin and Nana's birthdays! What fun. Papa put up the pools and the little ones provided plenty of hilarious entertainment. And of course, Papa delighted us with his delicious BBQ chicken and spicy pulled pork. Uncle Joe regaled us with some stories that only he could come up with and the rest of us sat back and relaxed! Good times with the family. Next time someone better bring a camera!

I got to ride the bus today...
....with my beautiful daughter Casi (red DU tshirt). She started her Master's program at Denver University today and she is going to do the bus/light rail thing (go Green!). Brought back memories of when she was a little girl and I sent her and her sister off to their first day of school with a new outfit etc. Now she's a beautiful women working her way towards her Masters in Social Work so she can do wonderful things to help others!
However, that does not mean that she does not have a fun, kid side anymore.....just check out these pics from a friends surprise birthday party (that would be Kat with Casi) where they dressed up like roller derby girls and went skating! Pig-tails, knee highs and all! Note the ever present lip gloss in her right hand.

Who says you can't have it all? I'm so proud of her!

There's more to tell you....
Papa and Nana have been on a crazy adventure the last few weeks. First they go on vacation to the Bahamas where mid-week Nana breaks her wrist.
The day after they returned from vacation Nana started a new job. Now that's a good thing. She is the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Fetter Logic, Inc. So far she is totally enjoying the job.
Through out all of this, they were in the process of selling their "old" house and buying a new house. Sound easy? Well, the selling of their house was easy. It was on the market for a very brief time and the first offer was a full price offer. It was the buying of their new house that gave them such grief. First of all, make sure you are working with an experienced, knowledgable realtor when going through these transactions. We ended up homeless for about a week...ok, not really homeless, but we did end up sleeping on a futon in daughter Jodi's basement while all of our earthly possessions were loaded on a truck and moved into storage. The futon was ok, however; the entertainment and company were great! Sissy and Boo insisted on dressing Leo up as a train conductor and playing the dog train cd and they all went crazy dancing. What a crew!
Till next time....
So much has happened...

....since we last report on the antics of the Fruit of the Loons.
Papa and Nana went on a wonderful vacation to the Bahamas. Well it was sort of wonderful. The island is pretty and the beaches are great. We did some pretty amazing snorkeling right of the beach where we were staying. However, while we are pretty keen on that "island" attitude, the Bahamians took it just a little too far. So much so, that when I fell and broke my wrist I decided to wait until we returned to the states before I would go to the doctor.
What, you didn't know I broke my wrist?! My oldest granddaughter Sara, and I broke our wrists the same week. I was NOT intoxicated as it has been reported (n0t sure about Sara, just kidding!). Not to say that we did enjoy our libations! We were walking back up the beach from a little snorkeling adventure and I fell in a whole a little boy had dug in the sand. I knew it was broken so was escorted to my beach chair. I asked for an ace bandage (which took forever for the resort to locate one!), ice and of course a pain killer....which my wonderful husband promptly brought me a fresh rum and diet coke!
Oh well, we survived and in spite of the "incident" had a great time including having a wonderful lunch with my beautiful niece Leigh who I haven't seen in a very long time. Hopefully will be getting the cast off next week!
